RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Commander of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, visited Bahawalpur Garrison where he received comprehensive briefings on operational readiness, training standards and administrative matters of the Corps, with particular emphasis on preparedness for multi-domain warfare.
During the visit, the COAS & CDF observed a high-intensity field exercise titled “Steadfast Resolve” at Khairpur Tamewali (KPT). The exercise showcased the integration of advanced technologies including unmanned aerial systems, modern surveillance tools, electronic warfare capabilities and state-of-the-art command and control systems, underscoring the Armed Forces’ commitment to technology-driven, multi-domain operations.
Addressing the troops, Field Marshal Munir commended their high morale, professionalism and combat readiness. He reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully capable and prepared to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against all forms of threats, stressing the importance of maintaining peak readiness to confront future battlefield and security challenges.
He highlighted that the Pakistan Armed Forces are undergoing a comprehensive transformation across multiple domains, noting that the nature of warfare has significantly evolved due to rapid technological advancements. He emphasized that future conflicts will rely more on technological manoeuvres rather than physical ones, fundamentally reshaping both offensive and defensive operations. In this regard, he stated that innovation, indigenization and adaptability remain central to the military’s modernization efforts.
Earlier, Field Marshal Asim Munir inaugurated the ROHI eSkills Learning Hub (STP), aimed at enhancing digital skills and learning opportunities for students, especially from Southern Punjab and other parts of the country. He also inaugurated the APS Abbasia Campus, reaffirming the Pakistan Army’s dedication to quality education and character development.
Later, the COAS & CDF visited the EME Regional Workshop, where he was briefed on advanced maintenance systems designed to sustain modern military platforms through technological solutions, indigenization and combat support measures.
Upon arrival at Bahawalpur Garrison, Field Marshal Munir was received by the Commander Bahawalpur Corps. He also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha in tribute to the martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.
