RAWALPINDI: The 273rd Corps Commanders’ Conference was held at General Headquarters under the chairmanship of Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing on Wednesday.

The forum began by offering Fateha for the martyrs of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies and civilians who lost their lives in recent terrorist incidents. The army chief paid tribute to the professionalism, resolve and sacrifices of security personnel, commending their success in sustained, intelligence-led counterterrorism operations across the country. He noted that coordinated efforts by the government, armed forces and public support were steadily steering Pakistan towards stability and progress.

Participants reviewed the internal and external security situation, focusing on emerging threats and operational preparedness. The forum reaffirmed that all terrorists, their facilitators and sponsors, including those backed by India, would be confronted decisively.

The commanders categorically rejected any nexus between terrorism, criminal activity and vested political interests, declaring that attempts to undermine national unity or create divisions between the armed forces and the public would not be tolerated.

The conference also appreciated development initiatives in Balochistan aimed at addressing governance-related drivers of terrorism and called for similar public-focused measures elsewhere. The forum reiterated support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and reaffirmed Pakistan’s stance on Palestine, urging a permanent ceasefire and humanitarian access to Gaza.
