RAWALPINDI: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed the media on Thursday, with Dar rejecting India's claims of Pakistan attacking Indian military installations.
Dar firmly denied any such actions, calling India's allegations a "fabricated story" meant to salvage face. He emphasized that Pakistan had no intention of endangering civilians in Indian Punjab and reiterated that Pakistan’s armed forces remain vigilant. Dar highlighted Pakistan's success in downing five Indian jets after confronting 75-80 Indian aircraft, showcasing Pakistan’s defensive capabilities.
While Pakistan remains committed to peace, Dar condemned India’s use of drones that violated Pakistani airspace. One such drone even attempted to target Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, possibly to disrupt the Pakistan Super League matches. Dar affirmed that Pakistan reserves the right to respond to aggression at a time and place of its choosing.
Lt Gen Chaudhry further dismissed Indian propaganda claiming Pakistan had attacked 15 targets in India. He clarified that India fired four projectiles at Amritsar, with one missile veering toward Pakistan but being monitored closely. Chaudhry criticized India's air defense system, pointing out the downing of five Indian aircraft despite India’s full control of air defenses.
He also provided details on Pakistan's successful interception of 29 Indian drones, asserting that only one caused minor damage and injuries to four soldiers. Chaudhry concluded that India’s claims were attempts to cover up their failures.
