GAZA CITY: Five people, including three children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a tent in Gaza City on Saturday, according to Gaza's civil defense agency.
The victims, all members of the same family, were sleeping inside the tent in the Sabra neighborhood when the strike occurred. Family member Omar Abu al-Kass, the children's maternal grandfather, told AFP that the attack came "without warning" and said they had done nothing wrong.
"Three children, their mother, and her husband were bombed by an Israeli occupation aircraft," Abu al-Kass explained.
AFP images from the scene showed mourners gathering around the five bodies, covered in white shrouds, some weeping as they paid their respects.
Mahmoud Bassal, a civil defense spokesperson, confirmed that the airstrike killed five and injured others, calling it an act of aggression by Israeli forces in Gaza. The attack has sparked further outrage in the region, with growing calls for an end to the violence.
