BEIJING: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Sunday emphasized that the Pakistan-China friendship remains “vital” for regional peace and stability” during the 7th Pakistan–China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Beijing. The dialogue forms the highest consultative mechanism between the two countries, reviewing bilateral cooperation and regional developments.
Dar, who arrived in Beijing on Saturday at Wang’s invitation, highlighted the importance of the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties in bilateral trade, CPEC initiatives, multilateral cooperation, and people-to-people exchanges. They also discussed global and regional issues, reflecting shared interests in promoting peace, prosperity, and stability in South Asia.
The Foreign Office stated that Dar and Wang jointly unveiled the logo commemorating the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations, marking the start of a year-long celebration of historic ties. Both leaders agreed to leverage this milestone to set a forward-looking vision for enhanced cooperation, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Dar also held meetings with Chinese dignitaries, including Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang and International Department Minister Liu Haixing, reaffirming steady progress in party-to-party exchanges and CPEC projects. The discussions emphasized Pakistan’s consistent support for China on key issues and the mutual commitment to regional development.
The dialogue and accompanying high-level meetings underscore the strategic importance of Pak-China relations as a cornerstone for regional peace, stability, and sustainable development, while planning initiatives to celebrate seven and a half decades of diplomatic engagement.
