KARACHI: In a landmark move set to redefine media education in Pakistan, Greenwich University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ARY Digital Network to establish a pioneering academic–industry partnership.
The MoU was formally signed at an impressive ceremony held at the university’s Karachi campus by Vice Chancellor Dr. Seema Mughal and President & CEO of ARY Digital Network and ARY Group, Salman Iqbal. The collaboration signals a bold step toward integrating academic excellence with hands-on industry experience.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will launch the ARY School of Media Studies, Pakistan’s first co-branded media studies institution. The school will operate within the premises of Greenwich University and offer undergraduate and graduate programs developed jointly by academic experts and media professionals. The curriculum will be designed to stay aligned with evolving industry trends, digital transformation, and global media standards.
A standout feature of the partnership is an exclusive, high-value traineeship program crafted and implemented by ARY Digital Network. Enrolled students will benefit from immersive, hands-on training opportunities across three consecutive summer terms. Each year, at least 15 students will be selected for the competitive program, gaining real-world experience within one of Pakistan’s leading media networks.
Importantly, the MoU preserves academic independence, allowing Greenwich University to continue collaborations with other media organizations beyond the scope of the ARY School of Media Studies.
To ensure smooth execution and long-term success, a joint coordination committee will be established to oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of all initiatives under the agreement.
This strategic alliance marks a transformative step toward bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry practice, equipping future media professionals with the skills, exposure, and confidence needed to thrive in Pakistan’s dynamic media landscape.
