ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has launched the second phase of Hajj 2026 applications in Pakistan. During this phase, which will continue until Saturday, applications can be submitted both online via the Ministry’s official portal and through designated banks across the country.
This stage of the process allows individuals who did not register earlier to submit their applications. Additionally, overseas Pakistanis can also apply through their close relatives at designated banks within Pakistan. However, those living abroad will be required to present their medical fitness certificates upon arriving in Pakistan.
In the first phase of the Hajj 2026 program, the ministry received over 71,000 applications. “More than 71,000 applications have been submitted through both the online system and designated banks,” said Ministry spokesperson Muhammad Umar Butt.
The current phase runs from August 11 to 16, during which applications must be submitted along with the initial installment of the Hajj expenses. The spokesperson emphasized that unregistered applicants are also eligible to apply during this period.
As per the Hajj 2026 policy, Pakistan’s total quota stands at 179,210 pilgrims. Of this, 119,210 spots are reserved under the government scheme, while 60,000 are allocated to private tour operators, pending final approval from the Saudi authorities.
Under the quota distribution, 70 percent of the slots will be filled through the government scheme and 30 percent through private operators. Further updates on the approval process are expected in the coming weeks.
