ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military on Friday confirmed that India launched missile strikes on three air bases within Pakistani territory, though all Pakistan Air Force (PAF) assets remained unharmed.
Director General of Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed a late-night press conference, confirming that air-to-ground missiles struck the Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi, Murid base in Chakwal, and Shorkot airbase.
"By the grace of Allah Almighty, all PAF assets are safe," Chaudhry assured, while warning, "Now just wait for our response."
In a startling development, the DG ISPR revealed that India also fired missiles and drones into Afghanistan, referring to it as an attack on a "brotherly nation."
Moreover, he said India fired six ballistic missiles inside its own territory, with one landing in Udhampur and five striking near Amritsar, raising serious questions about India’s intent toward its Sikh minority.
Pakistan state media has labeled the incident a deliberate attack on India's Sikh community, suggesting it may be part of a larger conspiracy to destabilize internal dissent and religious minorities.
"India’s desperation is a ticking time bomb—its paranoia and failures will keep compounding," said DG ISPR Chaudhry, adding that the PAF tracked every missile's electronic signature and target in real time.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar strongly condemned the attacks, especially the strikes in Indian Punjab, describing them as a conspiracy against minorities.
In a statement on platform X, Tarar said, “Pakistan stands with the Sikh community in this difficult time. These cowardly acts are exposing India’s true face to the world.”
The developments come amid rising tensions, as regional and international observers express concern over India's internal and cross-border military actions.
