RAWALPINDI: After the failure of Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam false flag operation, India has initiated a new military campaign named Operation Mahadev in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The operation, involving Indian Army, police, and Central Reserve Police Force, began with a violent cordon and search in Srinagar’s Dachigam area, where three Kashmiri youths were reportedly martyred in a fake encounter.
According to security sources, Operation Mahadev aims to suppress the ongoing freedom movement and restore the Modi government’s faltering political credibility after setbacks in earlier operations. The campaign reportedly includes staging fake encounters using innocent Pakistanis illegally detained and falsely portraying them as terrorists crossing from Pakistan.
India’s senior Congress leader and former Home Minister P Chidambaram criticized the Modi government for its lack of transparency regarding the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor. In an interview, Chidambaram questioned the government’s silence on the attackers’ identities and investigation status, suggesting it was concealing tactical errors and casualties. He also challenged the assumption that terrorists were from Pakistan, calling for honesty about the losses on both sides.
Pakistan’s Senator Sherry Rehman praised Chidambaram’s remarks as a rare acknowledgment of India’s failures and rejected baseless Indian accusations against Pakistan. She reiterated Pakistan’s offer for an independent investigation and urged the international community to reject India’s disinformation campaign.
Meanwhile, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh told the Lok Sabha that Operation Sindoor was “paused” after meeting its objectives and warned of resuming it if Pakistan provokes. Opposition lawmakers criticized the government’s handling of the Pahalgam attack, calling for greater accountability and transparency.
The conflict between India and Pakistan remains tense, with both sides blaming each other amid ongoing political and military maneuvers.
