KARACHI: KVTC proudly held a press conference at its Gymnasium to celebrate the outstanding international performance of its athletes at the 21st WATA Taekwondo Championship in Tokyo, Japan, and a Taekwondo Test Match in Malaysia. These achievements mark a historic moment for the differently abled community of Pakistan.
Under the leadership of Grand Master Najam Khan (9th Dan Black Belt), Head of the Team, and Mr. Amir Shahab, Director Rehabilitation at KVTC and Team Manager, eight differently abled athletes represented Pakistan with passion, resilience, and excellence, competing against over 7,000 athletes from more than 50 countries.
The athletes and their accomplishments are as follows:
Fariz Khan – Gold, Sualeh Baloch – Gold, Muhammad Saad – Silver, Muhammad Ahmed Khan – Silver, Abdullah Chand – Gold, Tabish Alam – Gold, Mustafa Jummani – Gold, and Ibrahim Alam – Gold.
Afterwards the Team participated in Kualalumpur Malaysia Taekwondo Test Matches between Pakistan and Malaysia two countries participation held at MATSA Taekwondo club Kualalumpur Malaysia under the supervision of Grand Master Lee Yoke Keung with panel Grand Jury was Grand Master MGM. Khan along with four masters the Team participated all 3 events Khorogi, khupa and Poomsae and took first position by clinching 7 Gold Medals. Fariz Khan – Gold, Sualeh Baloch – Gold, Muhammad Saad – Gold, Muhammad Ahmed Khan – Gold, Abdullah Chand – Gold, Tabish Alam – Gold, and Mustafa Jummani – Gold.
Their stellar performance has not only brought pride to KVTC but has also raised the national flag high at an international level, reinforcing the capabilities and potential of differently-abled individuals when empowered with opportunity, training, and encouragement.
