Pakistani model and actress Merub Ali has revealed that her passion for acting began during childhood, saying she had always dreamed of becoming part of the showbiz industry.
Speaking during her recent appearance on Good Morning Pakistan, Merub recalled how she would watch movies as a child and recreate their characters in her room. She said she was around 11 or 12 years old at the time and would act out different roles after being inspired by the stories she watched.
Merub said her family was aware of her interest in acting, but they did not initially believe she would pursue a career in Pakistan’s entertainment industry. At the time, her family was living in Saudi Arabia, making a professional career in Pakistani showbiz seem unlikely.
According to the actress, her first significant appearance came when she featured in a song by renowned singer Sajjad Ali at around the age of 16 or 17. She later entered the modelling industry before making her acting debut in television dramas toward the end of 2021.
Discussing her experience of working on drama sets, Merub said she does not consider long working hours particularly difficult. She explained that she could continue working for extended periods, although waiting between scenes is something she finds frustrating.

Merub Ali is currently appearing in ARY Digital’s drama serial Izzat, where she shares the screen with Atabik Mohsin and Hasham Khan.
The drama is written by Ilham Asim and directed by Aamir Yousuf. Speaking about her role, Merub said Izzat carries an important message for viewers.
She acknowledged that audiences may initially become angry or frustrated while watching her character and her actions in the drama. However, according to the actress, viewers will gradually understand the reasons behind the character’s decisions as the story develops.
Merub’s comments offer insight into her journey from a young girl recreating movie characters in her room to becoming a professional model and television actress. Her ongoing appearance in Izzat has also brought her character into focus as the drama continues to unfold.
