Pakistan is observing Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude) today to mark the historic victory in Marka-e-Haq and to pay tribute to the armed forces and the resilient people of the nation, following the successful conclusion of Operation Bunyan Marsoos.
The day began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayers across mosques nationwide. Worshippers offered Namaz-e-Shukr and prayed for Pakistan’s stability, prosperity, unity, and the liberation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Special Quran recitations were also held to honor the success of the Pakistan Armed Forces and to elevate the spiritual ranks of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the defense of the country.
In a solemn yet powerful tribute, a 31-gun salute was fired in the federal capital, Islamabad, while 21-gun salutes were conducted in all provincial capitals, including those in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
These ceremonial gun salutes symbolized national appreciation for the armed forces' role in achieving victory during Operation Bunyan Marsoos—a critical military campaign conducted in response to Indian aggression. The operation is widely recognized as a turning point in Pakistan’s defense narrative.
Throughout the day, patriotic chants such as “Takbeer – Allahu Akbar,” “Pakistan Zindabad,” and “Long Live Pakistan Armed Forces” echoed across cities, towns, and villages, reinforcing national unity and pride.
Citizens from all walks of life, including government officials, civil society members, and students, participated in commemorative events, demonstrating nationwide solidarity and gratitude.
Youm-e-Tashakur serves not only as a celebration of military success but also as a reaffirmation of the Pakistani nation’s collective resolve to stand united against all forms of aggression, while honoring the sacrifices made by its brave defenders.
