ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani military today accused India of “moulding history” and fabricating “Bollywood-style scripts” in the wake of the May conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
In a strongly worded statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s military media wing condemned recent remarks by Indian political and military leadership, calling them “delusional, fabricated and provocative.”
“It appears that the Indian army and political leadership have not reconciled with the idea that they were decisively beaten in Marka-i-Haq, and that their falsehoods have been fully exposed,” the statement read.
The ISPR expressed concern over what it described as a pattern of aggressive rhetoric surfacing ahead of state elections in India, particularly in Bihar and West Bengal.
“Five months after the conflict, the Indian military leadership has resumed parroting the same propaganda it amplifies before every election cycle,” the statement said, suggesting that the Indian army was acting under political pressure to stir nationalist sentiment.
Describing the Indian approach as reckless, the ISPR warned that irresponsible posturing from the leadership of a nuclear-armed country could have dire consequences. It also emphasized that the contradictions in recent Indian statements were “so evident that they should not be dignified with a response.”
Pakistan reiterated its rejection of Indian allegations of cross-border terrorism and cautioned that further escalations could lead to “cataclysmic devastation.”
The latest exchange underscores the fragile nature of India-Pakistan relations, which remain tense following a series of military and diplomatic confrontations earlier this year. No official response has yet been issued by India regarding Pakistan’s latest remarks.
