GENEVA: Pakistan and Palestine held high-level talks on Thursday to explore ways of delivering urgent medical and humanitarian aid to Gaza, as the humanitarian crisis deepens amid continued Israeli aggression.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, where Pakistan’s Minister for Health, Mustafa Kamal, met with his Palestinian counterpart to discuss coordinated support strategies for the war-hit enclave.

During the meeting, Mustafa Kamal delivered a message of solidarity from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people.
“The entire Pakistani nation stands firmly with the brave people of Palestine,” Kamal said, condemning the continued Israeli assaults on civilians and medical infrastructure.

Both ministers exchanged ideas on practical mechanisms for the safe delivery of aid, including medical supplies, food, and essential services, to the besieged population in Gaza. Kamal emphasized the need for international cooperation to ensure timely assistance reaches the most vulnerable.

“Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s barbaric actions, especially the attacks on hospitals and medical workers. These are grave violations of international law and basic human rights,” Kamal added, expressing deep concern over the destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system.

He said Pakistan had used its platform at the World Health Assembly to highlight Israel’s war crimes, calling on the international community to act decisively.

Kamal reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to work with international partners, humanitarian agencies, and Palestinian authorities to expedite relief operations. He also reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing diplomatic and moral support for Palestine’s right to self-determination.

The Palestinian Minister of Health thanked Pakistan for its consistent support and stressed the urgent need for unimpeded humanitarian corridors to prevent further loss of life.

The meeting concluded with both sides agreeing to coordinate further at diplomatic and operational levels to mobilize global action for Gaza’s health emergency and to push for international accountability for Israeli aggression.
