ISLAMABAD: In response to unprovoked Indian missile strikes on Pakistani airbases, the Pakistan army has launched Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, targeting multiple Indian military installations in a precise and calculated strike. The operation follows heightened tensions after the May 7 tourist attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which led to the deaths of at least 31 civilians.

The latest escalation began when India fired missiles at Pakistani airbases, including Nur Khan, Murid, and Shorkot, prompting immediate retaliation by Pakistan. Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed that all Pakistan Air Force (PAF) assets remained safe and assured that the military was fully prepared for any further aggression.

In the early hours of Saturday, Pakistan’s military targeted several strategic locations in India, including Pathankot, Udhampur, and Gujarat air bases, along with a BrahMos missile storage site in Rajasthan. Pakistan's counter-attack included the launch of Fateh-1 missiles, a domestically developed weapon with a range of 120 km, targeting Udhampur air base. Additionally, the Indian Army brigade headquarters and supply depots at Uri were destroyed.

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) achieved a major success with the destruction of India’s S-400 air defense system at Adampur airbase using hypersonic missiles fired from JF-17 Thunders. The strike dealt a significant blow to India’s most advanced air defense shield, valued at around $1.5 billion.

The operation also saw the destruction of several other key Indian sites, including Bathinda, Halwara, and Sirsa airfields, marking deeper penetration into Indian defense zones. In addition to airstrikes, Pakistani forces successfully targeted military posts along the Line of Control (LoC), resulting in substantial damage to Indian positions.

Further, cyberattacks by Pakistani forces reportedly disabled 70% of India's power grid, crippling its operational capacity. Pakistani forces also confirmed the destruction of Indian military intelligence centers in IIOJK.

In an admission of the damage, Indian media acknowledged the destruction of military bases in Pathankot, Poonch, and Jammu. While India claims to have fended off several aerial incursions, Pakistani forces continue to target high-value locations within Indian territory, deepening the ongoing conflict.

This military action by Pakistan has drawn the attention of global powers as the conflict continues to unfold in the region.
