ISLAMABAD: Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are likely to see an increase of up to Rs6.60 per litre for the upcoming fortnight beginning July 16, 2025, according to projections from the petroleum industry.
The expected hike includes a Rs6.60 per litre (2.5%) rise in petrol prices and a Rs5.27 per litre (1.9%) increase in high-speed diesel (HSD) rates. These anticipated adjustments come amid changes in international oil prices and domestic tax structures.
In contrast, the prices of other petroleum products are likely to decline. Kerosene oil may drop by Rs3.74 per litre (2%), while light diesel oil (LDO) is projected to decrease by Rs2.23 per litre (1.3%).
These pricing estimates are calculated based on the application of the petroleum levy (PL) and the carbon sustainability levy (CSL), currently standing at Rs78.02 per litre for petrol and Rs77.01 per litre for HSD.
The final prices will be officially announced by the Ministry of Finance after reviewing recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), factoring in global oil trends and currency exchange rates.
