ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s national carrier Pakistan International Airlines has officially announced the start of its pre-Hajj flight operation 2026, beginning April 19, as thousands of pilgrims prepare to travel for Haj 2026. The airline will transport more than 55,000 Pakistani pilgrims to Saudi Arabia through 191 special flights from major cities across the country.
According to a spokesperson, around 49,000 pilgrims will travel under the government Haj scheme, while over 6,000 pilgrims using private Haj operators will also be facilitated. The first Haj flight, PK-747, is scheduled to depart from Sialkot to Madinah early on April 19, carrying more than 390 pilgrims.
The Haj operation Pakistan 2026 includes extensive flight coverage. From Islamabad, over 15,400 pilgrims will travel via 46 flights, while Karachi will send more than 15,000 pilgrims through 55 flights. Lahore will contribute 12,377 pilgrims through 34 flights, Faisalabad 3,680 pilgrims via 23 flights, Multan 5,383 pilgrims through 13 flights, Sialkot 2,075 pilgrims via five flights, and Quetta 4,487 pilgrims through 15 flights.
The first Haj flight from Quetta is set for April 21, while Karachi’s first departure will take place on April 23. Lahore’s initial Haj flight will leave on April 24. Authorities have ensured that all arrangements for pilgrims, including airport assistance and guidance services, are fully in place to support a smooth travel experience.
The pre-Haj operation will continue until May 21, with airline officials emphasizing strict service standards and zero tolerance for negligence in pilgrim facilitation.
Meanwhile, AirSial has also commenced its Haj flights, with its first flight departing from Karachi carrying 160 pilgrims. The initiative is being supported by the Pakistan Airports Authority, which is overseeing airport operations and arrangements.
Under the Route to Makkah initiative, Saudi immigration procedures are being completed in Pakistan, significantly easing travel for pilgrims. Government officials reviewed facilities at airports and praised the improved services aimed at ensuring a comfortable Haj journey.
