MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said Pakistan’s armed forces had delivered a strong response to India, calling it a lesson that would not be forgotten. Speaking at a laptop distribution ceremony for students in Muzaffarabad, he said the people of Azad Kashmir stood firmly behind Pakistan’s military during the conflict in May, offering prayers for their success.
The prime minister said the sacrifices of people in occupied Kashmir would not go in vain and expressed confidence that the day was approaching when Kashmir would be freed. He reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding stance on the issue, stressing continued moral and diplomatic support.
Referring to the laptop scheme, Shehbaz Sharif rejected criticism that such initiatives were meant to influence youth, saying laptops were awarded purely on merit. He asked whether thousands of young Pakistanis could have become doctors and engineers without access to modern tools and education. Emphasising hard work and discipline, he urged students to contribute towards making Pakistan a strong and prosperous nation.
Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore said laptops help connect youth with the modern world and encouraged students to benefit fully from the initiative.
