ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged to deliver a decisive and crushing defeat to terrorists, ensuring they will never again dare to challenge Pakistan’s sovereignty and security.
Speaking at a high-level meeting on the country’s law and order situation on Friday, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms. “The struggle to eliminate terrorism will continue, and we will defeat terrorists so thoroughly that they will never think of challenging Pakistan again,” he declared.
Highlighting the impact of Pakistan’s economic recovery, the Prime Minister said the country’s enemies are unnerved by its progress and resilience. He commended the ongoing proactive efforts of security forces, institutions, and provincial governments in combating terrorism, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of law enforcement personnel.
“Our brave officers and soldiers are confronting terrorists day and night, sacrificing their lives for the nation,” Shehbaz Sharif said, adding that the federal government stands ready to fully support all provinces in enhancing their security capabilities.
He emphasized the need for unity among provinces and institutions, urging all stakeholders to rise above their differences and work collectively to root out terrorism and extremism. “Pakistan must act as one nation against common threats,” he stated.
Prime Minister Sharif also called for intensified action against smuggling and human trafficking, directing relevant agencies to ensure those involved are brought to justice.
As part of broader security reforms, he stressed the timely completion of Safe City projects across major urban centers. He also highlighted the operational status of the National and Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Center at NACTA, which aims to bolster inter-agency coordination.
The meeting was attended by key federal ministers, provincial representatives, and senior security officials. Improvements to the Forensic Science Agency in Islamabad and Punjab were also noted as essential components of the country’s law enforcement modernization.
The Prime Minister concluded with a call for unity, resilience, and cooperation in the ongoing fight for a safer, stronger Pakistan.
