ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday highlighted the importance of informed leadership, national unity, and coordinated policymaking to confront Pakistan’s evolving security challenges. He delivered these remarks during a visit to the National Defence University (NDU), where he addressed participants of the 27th National Security Workshop (NSW-27).
According to a statement issued by ISPR and shared by the President’s Secretariat Press Wing, the workshop brought together members of parliament, senior civil and military officials, academics, and representatives from civil society. NSW-27 aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of how different components of national power interact within the broader concept of comprehensive national security.
President Zardari congratulated the participants on completing the programme and praised their commitment to strengthening national security discourse. He noted that NDU’s National Security Workshop remains one of Pakistan’s leading platforms for fostering national dialogue, improving institutional capabilities, and advancing a whole-of-nation approach to security matters. He also presented certificates to the graduating members.
Earlier, on November 26, 2025, Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the army’s support for federal and provincial governments. He emphasised that unified national efforts and institutional harmony are vital for sustainable peace and development, adding that Pakistan’s greatest strength lies in its unity and collective resolve to defeat hostile designs.
