A new controversy has erupted on social media following actor Saba Qamar’s recent interview, where her comments about Karachi triggered backlash from fans and residents of the city. During an interview, the host suggested that she consider moving to Karachi — to which Saba instantly reacted by saying “Astaghfirullah,” firmly rejecting the idea.

Her reaction, which many deemed disrespectful, quickly went viral. Saba further explained that she never wanted to live in Karachi because, in her view, the city appears like “congested” and lacks the cleanliness and order found in Lahore or Islamabad.

The host also chimed in, drawing comparisons between Karachiites and residents of other major cities, highlighting Karachi’s ongoing issues with infrastructure, waste management, and civic maintenance. While some viewers agreed with the pair, citing the city’s worsening conditions, others criticized their tone as insensitive and dismissive toward millions of Karachi residents who continue to live and work there despite challenges.

Social media platforms have since been flooded with divided opinions. Many users accused Saba Qamar of being arrogant and ungrateful, while her supporters defended her remarks as an honest reflection of Karachi’s deteriorating state.

This is not the first time Saba Qamar has found herself in controversy over candid remarks, but this particular incident has reignited discussions about civic neglect, public sensitivity, and how celebrities should express their opinions about national cities.
