Renowned actor Sarah Khan has issued a clarification regarding her earlier remarks on feminism that drew criticism on social media. She stated that her comments were misunderstood, and she fully supports the concept of gender equality, but not the modern-day interpretation of feminism.

“I absolutely believe in equal respect, equal rights, and equal opportunities for women,” Khan said. “When I said I’m not a feminist, I meant I don’t identify with today’s version of feminism, not the original idea.”

Describing herself as an “OG feminist,” she explained that her belief in women’s strength is rooted in embracing femininity rather than mirroring masculinity. “True power lies in owning our divine feminine energy,” she said. “Women deserve to be respected, cherished, and valued for who they are.”

She emphasized that women were never meant to function like machines, but to nurture families, shape future generations, and lead with dignity and grace. Citing Hazrat Khadija (RA) as an example, she described her as a balanced figure—both a successful businesswoman and a symbol of strength and femininity.

Khan concluded by saying feminism should honor all choices, whether it’s career, motherhood, softness, or leadership. “Strength doesn’t have to come at the cost of our identity,” she asserted.
