KARACHI: Amid rising tensions along the eastern border, the Sindh Home Department has issued a high alert, directing police and all law enforcement agencies across the province to remain vigilant and fully prepared for any emergency.
Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has emphasized the immediate readiness of civil defense mechanisms, instructing the activation of all necessary emergency response systems. This includes operationalizing warning sirens and public announcement systems, as well as ensuring that public shelters are identified and made functional. These measures aim to safeguard civilian lives in the event of further escalation.
During a press conference, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) provided a detailed account of the situation. He reported that Indian forces had launched unprovoked and deliberate attacks across the Line of Control (LoC), specifically targeting civilian areas and religious sites.
In a swift and forceful response, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) successfully shot down six enemy aerial assets — five fighter aircraft and one surveillance drone. The destroyed aircraft included three Rafale jets, one MiG-29, one Su-30, and an Israeli-manufactured Heron drone.
The DG ISPR confirmed that Indian strikes on six separate Pakistani locations have resulted in the deaths of 26 innocent civilians and injuries to at least 46 others. He highlighted two particularly tragic incidents: in Ahmedpur East, 13 people, including two young girls, lost their lives when a mosque was targeted; while in Muridke, another mosque attack claimed three lives and left one person injured.
Authorities remain on high alert as the situation continues to develop, with further updates expected from both civil and military leadership.
