SIALKOT: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif issued a strong warning to terrorist elements in the country, declaring that they would face the same consequences as the Indian Air Force (IAF) during the recent military confrontation between India and Pakistan.
Speaking to the media in Sialkot, Asif said the conflict had reinforced national unity and strengthened the resolve of both the civilian and military leadership. “Earlier, there were visible cracks in national unity, but now we are united,” he said, crediting the recent crisis with reviving a shared sense of purpose.
The Defence Minister lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their decisive and effective response to Indian aggression. “On May 10, our brave military gave a decisive response to the enemy,” he stated. “Our leadership, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stood with unwavering faith and determination.”
Asif also emphasized the alignment between civilian and military institutions, noting that the sacrifices of the armed forces had been fully acknowledged by the government. “Prime Minister Sharif has made it clear that Pakistan will go to any length to protect its sovereignty,” he said.
Highlighting regional tensions, the minister accused India of sponsoring terrorism within Pakistan through covert networks. “India is actively supporting terrorism in Pakistan through its agents. Our fight is now against terrorists, and they will face the same fate as the Indian Air Force,” Asif warned.
He asserted that Pakistan had successfully countered India in every area of confrontation. “By the grace of Almighty Allah, we have been victorious in every field,” he declared.
Asif concluded with a warning to India: if such aggression is repeated, Pakistan's response will be even stronger. He revealed that during the recent standoff, the Pakistan Air Force had ten Indian aircraft within its sights.
