KARACHI: Two Indian passports were discovered in the pocket of an unconscious elderly man who was brought to Jinnah Hospital in Karachi.

According to the police, the passports, both issued in the name of a woman, are valid until 2028. One of the passports lists a residential address in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, while the documents were reportedly issued in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The discovery prompted the arrival of law enforcement and intelligence officials at the hospital to begin an in-depth investigation into the matter. The man was found unconscious near a parking plaza in Karachi and was immediately transported to the hospital by a rescue team. Despite receiving medical care for over four hours, the man remained unconscious.

In addition to the passports, the authorities found medications and several other documents in the man’s possession. The case is now under investigation by the relevant authorities, who are working to identify the individual and determine the origin of the passports.

This incident follows the recent arrest of an Indian spy in Karachi. The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for the City, Arif Aziz, confirmed that Akhil Dev, an Indian national, was apprehended in a joint operation with law enforcement agencies. Dev, along with his Pakistani facilitator Zahoor Ahmed, was allegedly involved in espionage activities targeting sensitive locations in Pakistan. The authorities continue to probe this case, linking it to broader security concerns in the region.
