KARACHI: Traffic police in Karachi and Rawalpindi have announced traffic plans for Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) processions scheduled for Wednesday, with road closures and diversions expected.

The federal government has announced a public holiday across Pakistan for Eid Miladun Nabi.
In Karachi, three processions will be held. Two will begin at 2:30pm, while the third will leave Central Meethi Masjid at 3pm and proceed towards Nishtar Park, where a Milad conference will be held.
Karachi Traffic Police said roads in Central, East and South districts would face diversions. MA Jinnah Road will remain closed, while restrictions will affect Guru Mandir, Garden, Liaquatabad, Shahrah-e-Faisal, Jamshed Road, Saddar and Pakistan Chowk.
Heavy and commercial traffic will be banned across the city. Parking along procession routes will be prohibited, while commuters have been advised to use alternative roads.
In Rawalpindi, more than 910 traffic personnel have been deployed for two processions. One will start from Jamia Masjid Hanfia, while another will depart from 22 Number Chungi.
Murree Road will be closed in both directions during the first procession, with traffic diverted through Liaquat Bagh, Tipu Road and other routes. Diversions will be enforced around Peshawar Road, Mall Road, Kacheri Chowk and Harley Street.
Rawalpindi CTO Farhan Aslam said tractors, trailers and trucks would be barred from procession routes. Arrangements have been prepared for ambulances, fire engines and emergency vehicles.
