ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed concern over the ongoing political situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), emphasizing that all issues should be resolved through dialogue, consultation, and democratic parliamentary processes.

Speaking during a meeting of the PPP Azad Kashmir parliamentary party at Zardari House in Islamabad, Bilawal reviewed recent political developments in the region and held extensive discussions with party lawmakers and senior leaders. The meeting focused on assessing the evolving political landscape in AJK and identifying ways to ensure stability through political engagement.

The session was attended by PPP Azad Kashmir political affairs in-charge Faryal Talpur, AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, former AJK president Sardar Yaqoob Khan, Chaudhry Yasin, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, and other prominent party figures. Participants shared their views and recommendations regarding the current political environment and the challenges facing the region.

During the meeting, members of the parliamentary party presented various proposals and concerns related to recent political developments in Azad Kashmir. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Faryal Talpur listened to the suggestions and discussed possible strategies for addressing the situation through consensus-building and political consultation.

Bilawal reiterated that the PPP has always remained committed to protecting the rights and welfare of the people of Kashmir. He stressed that political disagreements should be settled through dialogue rather than confrontation, adding that democratic institutions and parliamentary mechanisms offer the best path toward sustainable solutions.

The PPP chairman also announced his intention to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss the situation in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said consultations with the federal government would help identify an appropriate way forward and contribute to political stability in the region.

According to party sources, there was broad agreement during the meeting that ongoing issues in AJK should be addressed through negotiations and constructive political engagement. Sources further indicated that an important meeting involving President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari may take place in the coming days to deliberate on the matter.
