KARACHI: A couple living in Karachi’s Baldia Town has been blessed with quintuplets—three girls and two boys—delivered prematurely at a private hospital through an emergency cesarean section.
The father, Adnan Sheikh, and his wife became parents to five babies at just 29 weeks of pregnancy. Medical staff confirmed that all five newborns were underweight and experienced breathing difficulties at birth, requiring immediate oxygen support.
Doctors have placed the infants in neonatal care, and initial medical tests were carried out to monitor their vital signs and overall health. Although the situation remains sensitive, hospital sources report gradual improvement in the babies’ condition.
Adnan Sheikh, who works as a driver, shared that he was married only a year ago. While he expressed deep gratitude for the arrival of his children, he also voiced serious concern about the challenges ahead—particularly the financial pressure of caring for five premature infants requiring intensive medical attention.
In a heartfelt message to the public, Adnan appealed to government authorities and charitable individuals for help. He explained that the cost of neonatal treatment and ongoing care is far beyond his income and he fears for his children's well-being if support is not provided.
This rare and emotional case has drawn attention from across the city, with many social media users extending prayers and support for the family’s well-being.
