KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall in Karachi beginning July 18 as a fresh weather system moves towards Sindh.

Today’s weather in the city remains partly cloudy and humid, with sea breeze having resumed. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 35°C.

The PMD stated that this rain-bearing system will likely impact Karachi starting from the evening of July 18, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall on July 19 and 20. Other districts of Sindh are also expected to receive rain under the same system.

The department has advised citizens to remain alert and take precautionary measures in view of the upcoming weather changes.

Rainfall is also forecast in different regions of the country between July 15 and 17 as the current monsoon system shifts from the northern areas to Sindh. Over the next 12 hours, rain, windstorms, and thundershowers are expected across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and parts of Balochistan.

Morning temperatures in major cities were: Islamabad 25°C, Lahore 26°C, Karachi 30°C, Peshawar 27°C, Quetta and Muzaffarabad 23°C, Gilgit 21°C, and Murree 15°C.

In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, areas like Srinagar, Pulwama, and Anantnag are expected to experience partly cloudy skies with chances of rain and thunderstorms.
