KARACHI: The weather in Karachi is expected to remain cloudy today (Monday), with chances of light drizzle in the evening and night, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office said sea breezes have resumed in the port city, improving weather conditions, but high humidity levels are likely to cause discomfort during the day. The maximum temperature is forecast to reach 34°C. PMD clarified that no heavy rainfall is expected in Karachi during the current week.

Meanwhile, several parts of Punjab, already facing severe floods, are forecast to receive heavy rainfall for the next few days. The National Emergency Operations Center of NDMA has issued an alert warning of heavy to very heavy rains in Islamabad and multiple Punjab districts from Monday through Wednesday.

Flood conditions may worsen in flood-hit areas including Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Chiniot, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, and Faisalabad. Other districts likely to be affected include Murree, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan. Rising flows at Marala Headworks could intensify the situation in adjoining regions.
