KARACHI: Karachi witnessed cloudy skies accompanied by light rain and drizzling across various parts of the city late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning, providing a brief but welcome change in weather.

Areas including Lyari, Mauripur, Clifton, and Baldia Town experienced light showers, while parts of Malir district also received brief rainfall. Localities such as Landhi, Korangi, and Shah Faisal Colony saw rain accompanied by gusty winds, adding to the cooler atmosphere.

The return of the sea breeze has further contributed to a more pleasant weather pattern across the city. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), similar weather conditions are expected to continue for the next few days, with drizzling likely during both daytime and nighttime.

Temperatures in the city are expected to peak at around 35°C today, with overall hot and humid weather forecasted for most parts of Sindh. However, by evening or night, light rain or drizzling is anticipated in the coastal belt, as well as in Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Khairpur districts.

Meanwhile, the PMD has also issued a warning for heavy rainfall in several regions of the country between July 23 and 24. The advisory highlights the risk of flash floods in local streams, rain drains, and hill torrents across Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, and parts of northeastern Punjab, Kashmir, and Balochistan. Residents are advised to stay cautious and follow safety guidelines amid changing weather conditions.
