KARACHI: K-Electric, the primary electricity provider for Karachi, has announced that residents will not face load-shedding during Sehr and Iftar throughout the holy month of Ramadan 2026, as reported by ARY News.
The utility company has introduced a special power schedule for Ramadan, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply during the critical hours of Sehr and Iftar to facilitate citizens observing the fast. According to the company’s statement, no outages will occur during these peak times across the city.
Earlier, Adeeb Ahmed was appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer of K-Electric. The decision was finalized during a meeting of the company’s Board of Directors convened to address leadership matters.
Adeeb Ahmed has been associated with K-Electric as a board director since 2019 and brings over 34 years of professional experience, including several C-suite positions. His expertise includes private equity management, mergers and acquisitions, and business transformation projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors across the MENA region, Turkey, CIS, Southeast Asia, and Pakistan.
He has worked with investment banking institutions in the GCC and Pakistan, leading numerous assignments involving mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, and capital raising initiatives. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Hascol Petroleum Limited.
Additionally, he held senior leadership roles at the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Saudi Arabia, where he served as Senior Advisor to the CEO and Deputy CEO-Designate. He holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics (LSE), UK, and an MBA from IBA Karachi.
