Karachi: Book lovers continued to throng the Karachi World Book Fair (KWBF) on its second day at the Karachi Expo Centre, as publishers and booksellers offered books at discounted prices ranging from 30 to 50 per cent.
From early morning, students from schools, colleges, universities and madaris, along with religious, social, literary and journalistic figures, visited the five-day fair and purchased books of their choice. The event witnessed strong participation from people of all ages, reflecting the city’s enduring connection with books and learning.
To facilitate visitors, a private bank has arranged an ATM van at the venue, which will remain available until the last day of the exhibition. An ambulance has also been stationed at the Expo Centre to provide immediate medical assistance in case of emergencies.
Visitors said the Karachi World Book Fair has become a cultural identity of the city, adding that the importance of books has not diminished despite the mode.
