MURREE: The death toll from the devastating Murree Expressway accident has risen to 10, while several injured victims continue to receive treatment at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), according to reports. The tragic incident has shocked the nation and once again raised concerns about road safety in Pakistan and the increasing number of traffic accidents on major highways.

Hospital officials confirmed that 13 people were initially brought for treatment following the accident. Among the injured, four remain in critical condition and are receiving specialized medical care at PIMS. Authorities are closely monitoring their health status as doctors continue efforts to stabilize the patients.

The bodies of the deceased have been shifted to PIMS, where legal formalities are being completed before they are handed over to the families. Officials stated that the identification process has been successfully completed, allowing relatives to proceed with funeral arrangements.

Among the victims are five young children whose deaths have left families and local communities devastated. The deceased children have been identified as one-year-old Eshal Fatima, eight-year-old Shayan Kashif, five-year-old Ayan, seven-year-old Ilyan, and 10-year-old Azan Hyder. Their tragic loss has sparked widespread grief and condolences across social media platforms.

Four women also lost their lives in the Murree Expressway accident. The victims were identified as 35-year-old Shahreen, 35-year-old Sania, 38-year-old Farzana, and 45-year-old Arzo. The only adult male victim was identified as 55-year-old Nasim.

Health officials confirmed that 11 injured members of the same family are currently receiving treatment at the PIMS burns center. Medical teams are providing intensive care and necessary treatment to support their recovery.
