Showbiz actress Nazish Jahangir has issued a clarification following her unexpected response to a hypothetical marriage proposal from cricket star Babar Azam.
Nazish, addressing the controversy stirred by her comments during an interactive session on her Instagram, referred to all national cricketers as her 'brothers'. Her initial statement, which involved Pakistan cricket team's captain Babar Azam, had provoked backlash from the player's loyal fan base on social media.
In her clarification, Jahangir emphasized that Babar Azam and other cricketers are like family to her, and she disavowed any personal involvement with them. She expressed her disappointment with the negativity being spread by some of Babar's fans and urged them to refrain from such behavior. Jahangir reiterated that she holds no grudges against cricketers and urged individuals to keep their negativity to themselves.
This recent controversy arose shortly after Jahangir had previously stated her reluctance to marry anyone from the entertainment industry. She emphasized her preference for a partner from outside Pakistan and her willingness to settle abroad after marriage, mentioning countries like the USA, Dubai, Canada, or London.
