KARACHI: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has reportedly decided to pursue a path of reconciliation with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), according to sources.

Senior PPP leadership has signaled its intent to mend ties with MQM-P, directing party members to avoid aggressive public remarks. Insiders say the party has effectively declared a halt to hostile rhetoric, underscoring its desire to rebuild cooperation for the progress and stability of Karachi.

Sources within the PPP claim that MQM-P has faced political setbacks as a result of its confrontational stance toward the ruling party in Sindh. They also allege that comments made by MQM-P leaders after the Gul Plaza incident shaped the provincial government’s response.

Additionally, PPP insiders suggest that a separate political force may be attempting to influence MQM-P for its own strategic purposes. The PPP has reportedly communicated that it prefers transparent political competition and does not want MQM-P to be leveraged by outside actors.

The party maintains that political alliances and rivalries should be conducted openly, emphasizing clarity in both cooperation and opposition rather than behind-the-scenes conflicts.
