Pakistani singer Quratulain Balouch, popularly known as QB and famed for her iconic track Woh Humsafar Tha, narrowly survived a rare bear attack in Deosai. The incident occurred near Bara Pani, where she was rescued with injuries to both arms. Hospital officials confirmed she was shifted to Skardu Regional Hospital, where her condition is now stable.

Following the attack, the Gilgit-Baltistan government imposed an immediate ban on overnight camping in Deosai National Park. Government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq stated that the restriction aims to protect tourists while preserving the delicate alpine ecosystem.

Deosai, often referred to as the “Land of Giants,” is one of the world’s highest plateaus, spanning over 3,000 square kilometers at an altitude of more than 13,000 feet. It is home to endangered species including the Himalayan brown bear, snow leopard, and golden marmot. Conservationists have long expressed concerns that rising tourism threatens the region’s rare wildlife.
