KARACHI: In a heartbreaking incident in Baldia Town, a couple welcomed quintuplets in their first year of marriage, but two of the newborns — both boys — died shortly after birth. The remaining three, all girls, are in critical condition and receiving intensive care.
The babies were born prematurely at just 29 weeks of gestation, during the eighth month of pregnancy. Family members shared that all five infants had extremely low birth weight and underdeveloped lungs, requiring urgent medical attention.
Doctors are closely monitoring the surviving babies, whose condition remains fragile. The rare quintuplet birth has drawn concern and sympathy from the community, while the family continues to hope for the recovery of the remaining children.
