ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is observing Youm-e-Istehsal today to demonstrate unwavering solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and to denounce India's unilateral move of August 5, 2019.

On this day six years ago, India revoked the special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir through illegal and unilateral actions. The move has been consistently rejected by Pakistan, the Kashmiri people, and various international human rights organisations.

To mark the occasion, various activities and events are being held across Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. In the federal capital, a solidarity rally is set to begin from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and proceed to D-Chowk. The march will see participation from senior officials, civil society members, and citizens from diverse backgrounds. A one-minute silence was also observed nationwide at 10:00 AM in tribute to Kashmiri martyrs and those resisting Indian oppression.

Special events including walks, seminars, and discussions are being organised in all four provinces to raise awareness of the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Kashmir. Pakistani embassies and consulates abroad are also hosting programs to highlight the Kashmir issue on the international stage.

State-run broadcasters are airing dedicated content to honour the sacrifices of Kashmiri freedom fighters and to expose the human rights violations by Indian forces in the occupied region.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reiterated that the Pakistan Armed Forces stand shoulder to shoulder with the brave Kashmiri people in their struggle for the right to self-determination.
