KARACHI: Residents of Karachi have been advised to remain cautious as authorities warned of excessive heat despite cloudy skies, with temperatures expected to reach 33°C on Saturday.
According to the latest weather update, the city is experiencing mostly cloudy conditions with a 10% chance of precipitation, 76% humidity, and winds blowing at 24 km/h. While cloud cover may provide temporary relief, weather officials have cautioned that heat and humidity will continue to create uncomfortable conditions throughout the day.
The weekly forecast indicates that Karachi will experience maximum temperatures ranging between 32°C and 34°C over the coming days. Sunday through Thursday is expected to remain partly sunny, with temperatures hovering around 33°C to 34°C, while overnight lows are forecast to stay between 28°C and 29°C.
An Excessive Heat Alert has been issued for Karachi, warning residents to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. Health experts recommend staying hydrated, wearing light-colored clothing, and limiting prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
Although there is a slight possibility of isolated rainfall, meteorologists do not expect significant precipitation to ease the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions. Citizens, particularly children, senior citizens, and outdoor workers, are urged to take precautionary measures as the high heat index is expected to persist throughout the week.
Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions and advise the public to follow official updates and safety guidelines during the ongoing period of excessive heat.
