ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has postponed his planned visit to Switzerland for a ceremony related to the US-Iran peace agreement, according to his spokesperson on Thursday.
Spokesman Mosharraf Zaidi said the visit was no longer necessary because the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding had already been signed electronically and had officially come into effect.
The agreement, aimed at supporting efforts to end tensions and conflict in the Middle East, is now moving into its implementation phase. Zaidi added that Pakistan will continue to play a constructive role by supporting several upcoming technical-level discussions and cooperation tracks linked to the accord.
The development highlights Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement in regional peace initiatives and its support for dialogue-driven solutions. The postponement comes as international attention remains focused on the US-Iran agreement and its potential impact on Middle East stability, regional security, and global diplomacy.
