Karachi: Dr Mahnoor Nasir, a young lady doctor who was severely injured in a shocking acid attack in Quetta, is now reported to be out of immediate danger after receiving advanced medical treatment in Karachi. The victim was shifted to the city via air ambulance from Quetta and is currently under treatment at a private hospital in the metropolis.

According to hospital sources, Dr Mahnoor Nasir sustained acid burn injuries covering approximately 13 percent of her body. The acid attack primarily affected sensitive areas, including regions around both eyes, face, abdomen, and right hand. Despite the severity of the incident, medical experts confirmed that her eyesight remains intact, bringing relief to her family and doctors.

Upon arrival at the Karachi hospital, Dr Mahnoor underwent an initial medical evaluation followed by multiple diagnostic tests. Specialists from plastic surgery, ophthalmology, and burn care departments conducted detailed assessments to determine the extent of her injuries and develop a comprehensive treatment plan.

Hospital officials stated that the patient has now been moved to a specialized care unit, where she will remain under close observation. A further detailed medical review is scheduled after 24 hours to monitor her recovery progress. Doctors have described her condition as stable and satisfactory, noting visible signs of improvement.

Medical experts have confirmed that Dr Mahnoor is out of immediate danger, with all vital organs functioning normally. They further added that the corneas of both eyes were only mildly affected by the acid exposure, and her vision has been preserved.

Treatment is being closely supervised by eye specialists and plastic surgeons, while a multidisciplinary medical team continues to manage her recovery. Hospital authorities also stated that the Government of Balochistan is actively monitoring the case and ensuring that the best possible medical care is being provided.

Meanwhile, authorities are continuing investigations into the Quetta acid attack case. Police had earlier confirmed that a wanted suspect linked to the incident was killed in an encounter. The case has sparked widespread concern over violence against women and renewed calls for stricter laws and enforcement against such heinous crimes in Pakistan.

Doctors remain optimistic about Dr Mahnoor Nasir’s recovery, stating that her condition is steadily improving under intensive medical care.
