KARACHI: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has confirmed that gas supply will remain uninterrupted throughout the Eid ul Adha holidays across Sindh, including Karachi. This move is expected to bring much-needed relief to residents during the festive period.

In an official statement, the gas utility announced that there will be no gas loadshedding from June 7 to June 9. However, regular load management will resume from June 10.

Pakistan is set to observe Eid ul Adha on Saturday, June 7. The festival, known as the Festival of Sacrifice, holds great significance for Muslims worldwide. It commemorates the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH), who was willing to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. The occasion is marked by charitable acts, special prayers, and gatherings with family and friends.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning about a severe heatwave expected to affect most parts of the country during and after Eid. A high-pressure system developing on June 7 is predicted to increase daytime temperatures by 5-7°C in northern regions and 4-6°C in southern areas, with dust storms and strong winds likely due to surface heating.
