Salute to Karachiites,* dedicated to those kind hearted fellow citizens who over the decades, have made a name for themselves in serving the ailing humanity, irrespective of religion, caste and creed.
During the devastating urban flooding in Karachi on August 19, 2025, it was a common scene in the city where hundreds of families and organization opened their gates to host the countless citizens who were badly stranded in the rains.
They not only provided them much needed shelter but served them with food and at times with clothes for those who needed to replace their rain soaked attires.
Hundreds of citizens spent the entire night enjoying the remarkable hospitality of these kind hearted people.
It was neither the first occasion nor the last of its sort, as Karachi and its generous kind hearted people have a long list of such dedicated services in the past.
In order to pay poetic tribute to such noble people and their kind gestures, I have tried to express myself in these 6 verses.
