KARACHI: A known miscreant group has once again resurfaced with disruptive activities aimed at halting the construction of the sacred shrine of Syeda Khadija Maham (SA), daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (AS), in Agham Kot. According to a press release issued by the Zaireen Khidmat Committee Agham Kot, this latest act follows a pattern of sabotage that has long plagued the site.

The press release states that following a decision by the Sindh High Court Circuit Bench Hyderabad, the Government of Sindh officially initiated construction of the shrine. Work has been progressing smoothly for several months, with only a brief pause during the Muharram holidays beginning from the 6th of Muharram.

As part of the ongoing construction, a temporary drainage channel was constructed a few months ago to remove saline water from the area. However, on the night of Ashura, under the cover of darkness, the disruptive group reportedly fabricated two fake graves beside this drainage line. These appeared on the morning of the 11th of Muharram. It is significant to note that until the previous day, there were no graves in or around this area.

Syed Manzar Naqvi, head of the Zaireen Khidmat Committee Agham Kot, along with other committee officials, has strongly condemned this calculated act of mischief. They stressed that the drainage line has played a vital role in maintaining site conditions during construction. The temporary halt in work during the Muharram holidays was exploited by the miscreants to plant the graves and potentially create controversy over desecration when work resumes.

The committee pointed out that this is not the first such incident. Similar fake grave installations have previously been carried out at night to obstruct public pathways and halt development at the site.

The Zaireen Khidmat Committee has called on the Government of Sindh, the Badin district administration, and all relevant security agencies to take immediate and serious notice of this ongoing conspiracy. They demand legal action against the perpetrators and assert that this known group should be held fully accountable for all sabotage activities targeting the shrine of Bibi Maham (SA) in Agham Kot.
