New developments have emerged in the mysterious death of actor and model Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered on July 8 in her Karachi apartment located in Ittehad Commercial, Defence. The body was found after a court bailiff, responding to a landlord's complaint regarding unpaid rent, forcibly entered the flat.
Police investigations revealed that rent and utility bills had been cleared up to May 2024, indicating no financial distress at that time. Evidence from the apartment, including clothing found in the bathroom tub and near the washing area, suggests Humaira may have been doing laundry shortly before her death.
Her body was located in a room adjacent to the bedroom, with the balcony door left open. Authorities stated that the main entrance was double-locked from the inside. Neighbors reported a foul odor in December 2024, but forensic experts believe she likely died around October 7, 2024.
From the apartment, police recovered three mobile phones, a tablet, a diary, and multiple documents. She had contacted 14 individuals on the day she presumably died, and digital forensic analysis showed over 2,000 contacts in her devices, with frequent interaction with at least 75 numbers. A chemical examination will determine the cause of death.
