KARACHI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on a one-day official visit, where he is set to engage with Pakistan Navy personnel and review maritime security operations.

Upon his arrival, he was received by Federal Minister for Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes a visit to the Pakistan Navy dockyard, where he will meet with officers and sailors stationed there.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz will address naval personnel and honor their dedication in defending Pakistan’s maritime borders, particularly highlighting their role during the recent conflict, referred to as “Marka-e-Haq.” The Prime Minister is expected to commend the professionalism and commitment of the Pakistan Navy in safeguarding national interests at sea.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are several key cabinet members, including Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.

The visit underscores the government’s continued support for the armed forces and its recognition of the strategic importance of maritime security in national defense.

In addition to his engagements with the Navy, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently addressed the broader security situation in the region. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm stance against terrorism and criticized India for attempting to falsely implicate Pakistan in the Pahalgam incident. He noted that India has failed to present any credible evidence linking Pakistan to the attack and emphasized that Pakistan’s response has remained calm and responsible despite Indian provocations.

The Prime Minister expressed these views during a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye, Dr. Irfan Neziroglu. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent opposition to terrorism in all its forms and called for an impartial and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident.
